A poem on Being

Can we write a poem on stopping,
aimlessness, or just being?

Can we paint something about it?
Everything we do is an
act of poetry or a painting
if we do it with mindfulness.
Growing lettuce is poetry.
Walking to the supermarket
can be a painting.

Yesterday I spent a lovely afternoon at
Mossom Creek Hatchery.
(Click the link to see my photos)
It is like a little piece of heaven there,
the only sounds are of the creek itself.
The air is charged with scent
as only a west coast forest can be.

As soon as I stepped out of the car,
I felt re-charged. Gabe took off at
a run, excited to see the fish
and play in the creek.

For this afternoon,
I was able to let go and just BE.
How precious that gift.

What about you?
Is there somewhere you go
that re-charges you?

I'd love to hear about your magic places.

And speaking of magic places,
the photo today features Kim Klassen's
beautiful new Aurora texture,
for the Texture Tuesday Party.
Kim's site is a little bit of internet magic.
That place that reminds you to
slow down and breathe.

Have a beautiful day!
