The Littlest Birds

Robins and chickadees are flitting about
my backyard right now, reminding me that
in spite of all the rain,
it is in fact summer.

This week's In the Sun course prompts
included the sounds of summer, so I was inspired
to use some lyrics from The Be Good Tanyas.
Here is a little more of the song:

Well it's times like these
I feel so small and wild
Like the ramblin' footsteps of a wanderin' child
And I'm lonesome as a lonesome whippoorwill
Singin these blues with a warble and a trill
But I'm not too blue to fly
No I'm not too blue to fly cause

The littlest birds sing the prettiest songs...

How lovely is that?

What sounds of summer are you hearing right now?
