Beach Bliss

"At the beach, life is different.
Time doesn't move hour to hour
but mood to moment.
We live by the currents,
plan by the tides
and follow the sun."
-Unknown

This week for Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday
the challenge was to create an image
from a movie title, so
I chose the movie Beaches.

I took this photo a couple weeks ago
while we were on vacation at Cannon Beach.
I fell in love with this place,
and am now dreaming about the next time
we get to go back.

There is something so magical about
spending time at the beach.
I can feel all my worries melt away,
as my body syncs up to the
soothing rhythm of the waves.

I also love this beach quote:
“I honestly think the beach
is the only place children
actually entertain themselves.”
--Donna McLavy

I think this is another reason
I love the beach so much;)

I was recently reading the Charles De Lint
in which he writes about the idea
that each person has a heart home
in the spirit world.
I think my heart home would look
just like this.

And you?
Where do you feel most at home?
What place makes you feel most at peace?

P.S. There is still one week to enter my
Blogoversary Giveaway.

P.P.S. For those interested in the processing,
after a hue/saturation adjustment, I added
three textures: Ben's Collection 1,
Just Stitched, and Chamomile.
I erased Ben's Collection 1 from
the chairs and the boulders
to make them stand out more.

  3. Hiya Joyelle,
    Very atmospheric beach scene.
Those chairs look more comfortable than the usual deckchairs one finds on the sand.
