For five years I have spent almost every
single day with you. Now I have to send you out in the world and pray
that I have taught you enough about how to hold on to yourself in the
face of a world that will try to cut you down to size. Please
God don't let his spirit be broken. Let him continue to become more of
who he was meant to be, not less. Let him learn to find his way with
grace and kindness in this world. It is not just the first day of
kindergarten, it is the first day of the rest of his life.
