I went on a photo date with my husband over the holidays to a beautiful local park. I was entranced by the patterns in the ice, whether in frozen puddles, broken ice fragments, or a frozen pond. So here is a little poem, and a collection of ice jewels (texture overlays by Kim Klassen).

winter writes her poetry
in stunning crystaline symmetry
from simple drops of water born
frozen jewels the earth adorned
all the glittering frosty gems
treasured moments shared with friends
