sweet friends

"Books are the quietest and
most constant of friends;
they are the most accessible and
wisest of counselors,
and the most patient of teachers."
~Charles W. Eliot

Books have been a great solace
for me throughout my life,
in times when I had no other friends.
I am re-reading Anne of Green Gables,
and it is so lovely to be transported
back to that world.
What are some of your
favourite childhood "friends"?
What stories made a difference for you?

  1. it's funny that I run across this post because I was just thinking the other day of one of my favorite childhood stories: a wrinkle in time. I don't still have the book but I'm seriously considering buying it so I can reconnect with that part of me.

  2. Brandi, I just ordered a Wrinkle in Time and finished it last night!! I had forgotten how much I loved the story- so much goodness in those pages- I say order it and enjoy. Joyelle, this was such a fabulous post- I love reconnecting with those memories from my childhood and the stories that go along with them. I'm planning to read some of my old favorites to my kids. xo, Amelia
