Mixed Media Monday - Mothering Authentically

So I have just finished my first week of the Mothering Authentically e-course with Amelia Maness-Gilliland. Amelia and I have been following each other's blogs for a while now, and I am really enjoying taking this course with her. The Mothering Authentically course uses the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to tailor the course to your specific personality type. The idea is that by better understanding your personal strengths and challenges, you can learn how to mother from your strengths. Given that I have always been pretty fiercely individualistic, this is exactly the kind of parenting course that appeals to me!

As part of the course, we are encouraged to create some visual journal pages to express what we are learning about ourselves. I really wanted to have a separate book from my regular art journal, so with some scrapbooking supplies and cardstock that I found in my stash, I put together my own Mothering Authentically art journal. Here is the cover and first page:

I am using techniques I have learned through some great mini-album scrapbooking workshops I have taken at Cherish the Thought with Sonja McLean, and the Pam Carriker Art Journal workshop I just completed through Strathmore.

Anyway, it is Valentine's Day so I should go spend some time with my sweethearts.
