Reverb 10: Body Integration

December 12 – Body Integration This year, when did you feel the most integrated with your body? Did you have a moment where there wasn’t mind and body, but simply a cohesive YOU, alive and present? (Author: Patrick Reynolds)

Something about the way this is worded really rubs me the wrong way. So I am going to re-phrase it for myself. When was the moment when I felt most fully alive, at peace and full of joy and wonder? Well it was on the beach in Waikiki, and thankfully my husband captured the moment on film. The picture says it better than I could with words:

What was a standout moment for you in 2010?

  1. I had trouble with this one as well. I really like the way you rephrased it and it made it your own!

  2. Hi Joyelle,

That's a lovely photo and captures how I've felt while on a beach in Maui! :)

I'm curious what it was about the way the original question was phrased that bugged you. Could you elaborate? I only ask because I can be set off by wording of things too, but wasn't able to catch why this one would be troublesome.

  3. Hi Karen,

I just read this comment now, so sorry for the ridiculously long delay, but somehow I missed this. I think partly it was the way the author created this duality of mind versus body. I think that is a trap our culture gets into - constantly creating divisions where really there aren't any.
